About the Role
The Area Manager will plan, coordinate, and monitor construction programmes, organise temporary works, prepare tender packages, evaluate subcontractors, and implement efficient techniques while reporting significant safety, quality or community issues to the Project Manager. • Plan, maintain, coordinate and monitor construction programs and activity completion. • Organise, design and implement temporary works and infrastructure. • Prepare work packages, documentation and quality requirements for subcontractor tenders. • Evaluate subcontractors for capacity and capability. • Identify and apply efficient techniques, methods and materials. • Report significant safety, health, environment, quality or community issues to the Project Manager and remediate them.

What You Bring
We are seeking an Area Manager with a construction background to join the Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture (RRJV), a 50/50 partnership between Downer and CPB Contractors. The role will support major upgrades and replacement of infrastructure across the Albury‑Wodonga Military Area, Blamey Barracks (Kapooka) and RAAF Base Wagga, and is based at RAAF Base Wagga with relocation assistance available. Candidates must hold or be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance, possess an engineering degree or equivalent tertiary qualification, and preferably be a member of Engineers Australia or IPENZ. Experience as an SPE or similar, knowledge of SWTC compliance, and demonstrated commercial planning and risk‑treatment skills are required, together with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. • Obtain or hold a Government Security Clearance. • Hold an engineering degree or equivalent tertiary qualification (TAFE or similar). • Member or graduate member of Engineers Australia or IPENZ (desirable). • Prior experience as a Senior Project Engineer (SPE) or equivalent. • Experience developing methodologies to ensure compliance with SWTC. • Demonstrated commercial experience in three‑month planning, risk‑treatment plan implementation and cost/risk reporting. • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to high‑quality outcomes. • High internal mobility with 30 % of vacancies filled internally.
