About the Role
In this role, the manager coordinates all aircraft movements, monitors runway and taxiway conditions, and ensures adherence to FAA, DoW, ICAO and RNSC regulations. Safety audits, risk assessments and emergency response planning are conducted regularly, while infrastructure maintenance such as lighting and navigational aids is overseen. The position also includes supervising ground personnel and contractors, providing required training and certifications, and acting as the primary liaison among RNSC, LRRA, aerospace tenants, research teams and regulatory agencies to facilitate joint operations and testing schedules. • Direct daily operations of fixed‑wing, rotary‑wing, unmanned and experimental aircraft • Manage airfield access and scheduling for tenants, research teams and visitors • Monitor runway, taxiway and apron conditions to maintain readiness • Ensure compliance with FAA, DoW, ICAO and RNSC operational standards • Conduct routine safety audits and risk assessments • Develop and implement emergency response protocols for diverse aircraft operations • Maintain wildlife and environmental compliance plans • Serve as liaison among RNSC, LRRA, aerospace tenants, research teams and regulatory agencies • Coordinate joint operations, testing schedules and infrastructure use • Oversee maintenance of lighting, signage and navigational aids • Track and report airfield asset conditions and operational needs • Maintain accurate records of aircraft operations, inspections, incidents and maintenance • Prepare operational reports for leadership and regulatory bodies • Support grant applications with relevant operational data • Train and supervise ground operations staff and contractors, ensuring certifications • Escort vendors, contractors and visitors on and off the airfield • Contribute to long‑term planning for airfield development, tenant expansion and research integration

What You Bring
Applicants must be U.S. citizens holding a DoD Secret clearance, possess a bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science or a related field (master's preferred), and have at least five years of experience in airfield or airport management with knowledge of FAA Part 139 and DoW standards. • US citizenship with DoD Secret clearance required • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science or related field (master’s preferred) • Minimum five years of experience in airfield operations or airport management • Familiarity with FAA Part 139, DoW airfield standards and experimental aircraft operations • Proactive problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication abilities • Strong knowledge of private‑use airfield operations and safety protocols • Ability to interpret and apply regulations, safety standards and internal policies • Proficiency with security systems, badging programs and access‑control technologies • Skill in building effective relationships with internal staff, customers, contractors and external agencies
