About the Role

The purpose of this position is to develop and deploy the category strategy for copper, aluminum, fab‑copper, and special metals suppliers to drive optimal cost outs and supplier rationalization. The role collaborates with operations, quality, logistics, and engineering for resourcing and rationalization, and leads the coordination and execution of the Neck Supplier Management strategy for ES America and EMEA mechanical commodities with Global Category Managers and business units for direct materials. Key responsibilities include aligning category strategies with current environmental, market, and economic factors, building organizational consensus, negotiating strategic supplier agreements, and ensuring supply continuity through risk identification and mitigation. The incumbent will guide projects from ramp‑up through successful launch, partner with engineering on part rationalization, and work with cross‑functional teams such as ESSP, Should‑Cost, Project Management, TCO, and Risk & Compliance to achieve enterprise SCM goals. • Achieve a minimum 2% contribution to the overall category cost‑out goal through tail‑spend project execution. • Align category strategies with the latest internal and external environmental, market, and economic factors while building organizational consensus. • Negotiate and manage key strategic supplier agreements, cost negotiations, and relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Lead projects through ramp‑up and successful product launch phases. • Collaborate with engineering to identify and implement part rationalization opportunities. • Maintain supply continuity by identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies. • Coordinate with internal teams (ESSP, Should‑Cost, Project Management, TCO, Risk & Compliance) to meet enterprise SCM objectives. • Partner with category managers to develop and execute strategies for middle and tail‑spend suppliers/parts. • Ensure program milestones are met as mutually established by customers and GSCM COE. • Provide guidance to internal teams on executing the global category strategy for middle and tail‑spend suppliers. • Lead governance review meetings on behalf of GSCM COE for assigned categories. • Serve as the single point of contact for the assigned category within GSCM COE for category leaders.

What You Bring

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering, with CPSM preferred, and possess at least eight years of commodity‑specialist experience in areas such as casting, forging, fabricated parts, electrical and electronic components, stampings, or ferrous/non‑ferrous metals. Required skills include strong MS Office proficiency, clear communication across all organizational levels, metric development, project and time management, data analytics, and the ability to influence stakeholders. • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering; CPSM preferred. • Minimum 8+ years of commodity‑specialist experience in casting, forging, fabricated parts, electrical/electronic components, stampings, or ferrous/non‑ferrous metals. • Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project). • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organization levels. • Ability to develop and track internal metrics and perform data‑driven analysis. • Strong project, time‑management, organizational, and analytical capabilities.
