About the Role
The Director of Pricing & Data Platform will lead the creation of a next‑generation Data Optimization Platform to transform how AvalonBay leverages data, predictive analytics, and dynamic pricing across its rental portfolio. This role shapes strategy, technology, and execution of data capabilities that drive measurable business impact, drawing on best practices from dynamic pricing, yield management, and data analytics. The leader will serve as the central product authority, aligning data science, engineering, marketing, leasing, and pricing teams toward common goals. • Define and lead the strategy for the Pricing Platform, setting vision, success metrics, and an innovation roadmap. • Benchmark against industry leaders to incorporate state‑of‑the‑art pricing and yield practices. • Oversee design, development, and launch of a scalable, data‑driven pricing platform with predictive analytics. • Ensure seamless data ingestion, modeling pipelines, and real‑time pricing optimization aligned with market signals. • Drive cross‑functional adoption of platform capabilities across data science, engineering, marketing, leasing, and pricing teams. • Lead a team responsible for pricing strategy, inventory management, data integrations, and platform capabilities. • Partner with Data Science to operationalize machine learning and predictive analytics into pricing workflows. • Collaborate with Marketing, Leasing, and Resident Experience to ensure consistent, data‑driven pricing decisions. • Establish clear KPIs and launch foundational platform capabilities within the first year. • Deliver measurable gains in pricing accuracy, occupancy optimization, and operational efficiency over the long term.

What You Bring
• Require 10+ years of experience in product management, pricing optimization, yield management, or data‑driven strategy with leadership experience. • Prefer a Bachelor’s degree; MBA, Data Science, or technical advanced degree is a plus.
