About the Role

• Set up trailers and temporary structures such as decks, stairs, and roofs. • Install site equipment, shelves, and erosion control measures. • Hand‑set and assemble forms for concrete work. • Assist journeymen with grade and elevation surveys. • Unload, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials. • Perform concrete, rough, and finish carpentry tasks including walls, footings, decks, drywall, doors, and cabinetry. • Foster relationships with diverse team members.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Carpenter Apprentice I to assist Journeyman and Foreman Carpenters while learning the trade. The apprentice will support tasks such as setting up trailers, building temporary structures, installing site equipment, and performing both rough and finish carpentry. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Note that postings typically remain open for a minimum of five days, averaging forty‑four days. • High school diploma or GED; enrolled in an apprenticeship program. • Prior construction site experience preferred. • Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and effective communication skills. • Ability to read plans, visualize objects, and operate carpentry tools and equipment. • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb (heavier loads with assistance). • No visa sponsorship available; must be authorized to work in the U.S. • Posting typically open minimum 5 days, average 44 days.
