About the Role

The Staff Accountant supports the accounting function by handling general‑ledger reconciliation, homebuilding reporting, revenue recognition, cash receipts, and month‑end reporting. This role contributes to accurate financial statements and helps ensure cost management and schedule adherence across construction projects. • Assist with month‑end close. • Maintain accounting methods and systems per corporate policies. • Prepare journal entries. • Perform bank account and general ledger reconciliations. • Support special‑project analysis. • Oversee suspense‑account reconciliations. • Record incoming wire transfers and returned items. • Ensure accuracy of monthly backlog profitability reports. • Assist in preparing weekly reporting requirements. • Prepare monthly revenue entries, accruals, reclassifications and allocations. • Run ESSBASE daily during month‑end to track overhead expenses versus budgets and forecasts. • Execute monthly fixed‑asset processes as needed. • Prepare commission packages for review.

What You Bring

• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. • Possess at least two years of general accounting experience. • Demonstrate strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel; JD Edwards experience preferred. • Exhibit excellent attention to detail.
