About the Role
We are hiring a Drainage Engineer II to contribute to design‑build and design‑bid‑build transportation projects across the United States, supporting both state and federal road and highway initiatives. The engineer will create and review drainage and irrigation designs, model hydraulic systems, perform quantity calculations, and ensure the accuracy of construction and erosion‑control drawings, delivering comprehensive engineering products such as detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, and technical reports. • Develop and supervise engineering deliverables including calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, and technical reports. • Define project problems, scope, budgets, and schedules while providing technical direction and status reporting. • Perform drainage and irrigation design, hydraulic modeling, quantity calculations, and review of construction and erosion‑control drawings. • Guide CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineers, and may supervise subordinate staff.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will hold a civil engineering degree, possess five or more years of road‑and‑highway drainage design experience—preferably with state DOTs—be an Engineer‑in‑Training, and be proficient with CAD and hydraulic modeling tools such as HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, and Bentley software. A professional engineer license is desirable but not required. • Hold a 4‑year civil engineering degree (or related field) and at least 5 years of road/highway drainage design experience with state DOT projects. • Be an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) and proficient in CAD and hydraulic modeling software (HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, HY‑8, Bentley InRoads, StormCAD, WinTR‑55, FlowMaster, FHWA Hydraulic Toolbox). • Experience obtaining storm‑water permits is a plus. • Professional Engineer (PE) license desired but not required.
