About the Role
The position operates in an Agile development setting, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to create software components, microservices, and supporting infrastructure. Responsibilities include analysis, documentation, testing, integration, and ensuring cybersecurity compliance. • Design and develop software modules for U.S. Army tactical fire control systems in an Agile/DevOps environment. • Build microservice and web‑based applications using Java 17, Spring Boot, Gradle, RabbitMQ, RESTful APIs, and OpenAPI. • Create core infrastructure services and internal tooling to support other developers. • Perform requirements analysis, traceability, and author design, interface, and user documentation. • Support testing, integration, and cyber hardening to meet security standards. • Participate in Agile ceremonies, maintain JIRA task logs, and use Confluence, GitLab, and other DevSecOps tools. • Maintain configuration management for new software features. • Collaborate with teammates and conduct Soldier Touchpoints to gather user feedback.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and possess at least three years of software engineering experience. Required technical expertise includes modern Java development, Spring Boot, containerization, and familiarity with DevSecOps tools, while strong communication and problem‑solving skills are essential. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of software engineering experience. • Proficient with Java, Spring Boot, Gradle, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, JUnit/Mockito, and Atlassian toolset (JIRA, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Confluence). • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and self‑starter attitude; U.S. citizen able to obtain Secret clearance. • Desired experience with DoD SDLC, Windows/Linux deployment, Government standards, SAFe framework, and U.S. Army tactical fire control systems. • Travel up to 5% and occasional onsite work at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.
