About the Role

As part of GHD’s multidisciplinary team of more than 150 dam engineers in Australia, you will focus on new dam designs, upgrades, safety, risk assessment and support clients in managing dam portfolios across Tasmania, Australia and beyond. • Deliver technical services on dam feasibility studies, new designs and upgrade projects. • Lead safety evaluations, risk assessments and mitigation strategies for existing dams, spillways and embankments. • Conduct dam safety surveillance for major Australian dam owners. • Manage client relationships, support business development and produce proposals, reports and technical analyses. • Provide support for geotechnical investigations and construction phases.

Due to a significant state‑wide project win, GHD is seeking Civil Engineers at various experience levels to join its growing Dams team in Tasmania. Whether you are a young professional or a seasoned expert, you will contribute to a renowned project in a region known for natural beauty and engineering challenges. We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or higher, eligibility for Engineers Australia membership, and demonstrated experience in dam design, construction or safety assessment. Knowledge of embankment and concrete dams, spillways, outlets, hydropower facilities and risk‑management practices is essential. • Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or higher with relevant dam design, construction or safety experience. • Be eligible for Engineers Australia membership (Chartered for senior roles). • Possess knowledge of embankment and concrete dam design, spillways, outlets, intake towers, hydropower facilities and risk‑assessment practices. • Have experience with investigation, construction‑phase services and dam safety management guidelines.
