About the Role

The Production Associate/Material Handler – Forklift Operator position is located at our Sumter, SC facility. The role combines computer‑based inventory tasks with hands‑on material movement, requiring cycle counts, root‑cause analysis of count discrepancies, and operation of forklifts and cranes to move equipment and components. You will receive, document, store, stage, and issue all job‑related materials to support production schedules, as well as assist with assembly and fabrication needs. Packaging, banding, and labeling of parts and products are performed to minimize damage during shipment or staging. • Perform cycle counts, analyze results, and implement corrective actions. • Operate forklifts and cranes to transport materials and equipment. • Receive, document, store, stage, and issue materials to meet production needs. • Package, band, and label items to protect them during shipment or storage. • Conduct quality checks and pursue continuous improvement initiatives. • Follow safety protocols, use PPE, and maintain a clean 5S work area. • Collaborate with team members and communicate customer requirements. • Execute Lean suggestions for quality, process, and safety enhancements. • Perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

What You Bring

Compliance with safety and industrial hygiene standards is mandatory, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to 5S housekeeping. The position requires teamwork, analytical problem‑solving, and occasional preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, be authorized to work in the United States, and reside within 50 miles of Sumter, SC. Computer literacy, proficiency with Excel, Word, DMM, AS400, Mapics, Vista, and Outlook, and the ability to lift at least 35 lb and stand for extended periods are required.
