About the Role

The Structures Project Engineer position, based in Walnut Creek or Folsom, CA, will lead structural design for a broad range of markets—including technology, corporate, education, healthcare, and federal projects—overseeing the full project lifecycle from planning through construction documentation and administration, and producing drawings, specifications, calculations, and shop‑drawing reviews. • Review structural documents for interdisciplinary conflicts. • Write and edit structural specifications, select materials, and perform calculations. • Coordinate the structural design team through design development and contract document phases. • Facilitate meetings and code‑compliance reviews with governing agencies. • Conduct on‑site design development sessions with the Project Manager and other disciplines. • Manage workload to ensure timely completion of design and construction documents. • Handle addenda, RFIs, change proposals, and integrate changes into project documents.

What You Bring

• Maintain a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural Engineering (structural focus). • Possess at least five years of structural engineering experience. • Hold an SE license and be proficient with tools such as AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, ETABS, and SAFE. • Demonstrate leadership, strong verbal and written communication, and commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
