About the Role
Production Engineering Technician – an opportunity to drive operational excellence through hands‑on technical expertise and continuous process improvement, supporting manufacturing operations with precision, problem‑solving, and teamwork. The role focuses on equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and technical repairs across the production floor, contributing to equipment uptime, product quality, and process reliability through collaboration with engineers, technicians, and cross‑functional teams. Developing specialized technical skills and participating in continuous‑improvement initiatives strengthens operational efficiency and ensures safe, high‑quality production. • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on plant production equipment safely. • Identify and fix equipment malfunctions before catastrophic failure. • Operate medium‑sized manufacturing equipment such as laser welders, robotic arms, and PCB testers. • Collaborate with supervisors, process engineers, peers, and technicians in a team‑driven environment. • Troubleshoot optical, electrical, mechanical, and PC‑based production equipment. • Maintain equipment to minimize downtime and ensure consistent performance. • Execute monthly preventative maintenance on production equipment. • Lead or support capital equipment purchasing, acceptance, and implementation. • Repair micro‑optical and electrical products. • Apply fine wire and cable processing skills as required. • Perform micro‑electronics soldering on fine wires. • Detect PCB defects and escalate issues appropriately. • Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action activities for product and process improvements. • Support sustaining engineering and manufacturing process improvement projects. • Collect and analyze production data, FPY metrics, and trends to address recurring issues. • Provide data‑driven feedback to production leaders and engineering teams. • Purchase spare parts and supplies to maintain uninterrupted equipment uptime. • Follow preventative maintenance practices. • Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineers and technicians. • Apply strong problem‑solving skills and respond quickly to production issues. • Work flexible hours by adjusting daily work times. • Participate in tailored financial programs and optional voluntary benefits.

What You Bring
• Conduct cross‑functional duties and adapt to evolving operational needs. • Teardown suspect or defective products for failure analysis. • Demonstrate experience troubleshooting and repairing production or manufacturing equipment. • Possess exposure to optical, electrical, mechanical, or PC‑based equipment repair. • Work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented manufacturing setting. • (Preferred) Experience with micro‑optical or micro‑electronic repair. • (Preferred) Fine wire, cable processing, or micro‑soldering expertise.
