About the Role
Parsons seeks a mid‑level chemist to support data validation and quality assurance/quality control for environmental projects serving private and Federal sector clients. The chemist will work under a Senior Chemist, contributing to work plans, Quality Assurance Project Plans, UFP‑QAPPs, and tracking chemical data from field collection through laboratory analysis. Key responsibilities include reviewing and validating chemical and radiological data packages in line with EPA guidance and American Nuclear Society standards, assisting in analytical method selection, and developing quality assurance project plans, sampling plans, and SOPs. The role also serves as the day‑to‑day coordinator between field personnel and analytical laboratories, managing sample shipments, chain‑of‑custody issues, and data management using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access. Findings are summarized in written data usability reports and non‑routine, complex data analysis reviews are provided. • Review and validate chemical and radiological environmental data per EPA/NFG guidelines. • Assist in selecting analytical methods and preparing work plans and QA/QAPPs. • Develop sampling plans, SOPs, and quality assurance project plans. • Coordinate sample shipping, receipt, and chain‑of‑custody between field staff and labs. • Manage data using Excel, Word, and Access; produce data usability reports. • Provide non‑routine and complex data analysis review and guidance.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a B.S. in Chemistry or Environmental Chemistry and possess 3‑5 years of environmental laboratory experience with knowledge of analytical methods such as USEPA, SW‑846, DoD QSM, and Standard Methods. Experience in data validation for organic and inorganic media (soil, water, waste, air, tissue), radiological data review, and emerging contaminants like PFAS is preferred, as is background in environmental forensics. Candidates must provide three professional references, communicate effectively with project teams, multitask across projects, and deliver results quickly, efficiently, and cost‑effectively. • Hold a B.S. in Chemistry or Environmental Chemistry with 3‑5 years of relevant experience. • Experience with EPA, SW‑846, DoD QSM methods and data validation for soil, water, waste, air, tissue. • Knowledge of radiological data review and emerging contaminants such as PFAS (plus). • Ability to communicate effectively, multitask across projects, and deliver results efficiently.

The salary range for this role is $54,600 to $95,600.
