About the Role
The primary objective of this role is to oversee and plan all shift activities to ensure they are carried out safely, with accurate reporting to the superior. The incumbent must maintain compliance with DP World health, safety, and environmental policies. Open to internal candidates, the position focuses on fostering a zero‑harm safety culture across the operation. This includes delivering tool talks, mock drills, safety campaigns, and other awareness initiatives. The role requires daily coordination with the Shift Superintendent to correct unsafe conditions, apply Stop Work Authority when necessary, and manage permit‑to‑work processes, including bunkering approvals and accident investigations. Timely reporting of near‑misses and hazards is also essential. • Develop a safe work culture embracing zero harm per DP World HSE policy. • Conduct tool talks, mock drills, safety campaigns, and awareness programs. • Implement the Consequence Management Procedure. • Plan and execute safety and environment day activities and manage Safety Employee of the Month/Year awards. • Perform day‑to‑day permit‑to‑work tasks assigned by the line manager. • Deliver induction training as required. • Coordinate with the Shift Superintendent to intervene in unsafe activities, using Stop Work Authority when appropriate. • Report near‑misses and hazards. • Approve bunkering activities following procedure. • Investigate accidents occurring during the shift.

What You Bring
• Degree or Diploma in Safety with at least 400 hours of safety and environment training. • NEBOSH certification (desirable). • Minimum five years of industrial safety experience, preferably in ports, terminals, or marine operations. • Strong English communication skills (oral and written) and fluency in the local language. • Ability to conduct tool talks, mock drills, and safety campaigns. • Proficiency in computer applications and MIS report preparation.
