About the Role
• Apply technical skills to routine projects with minimal supervision • Direct technicians to produce engineering documents accurately and efficiently • Perform cross‑discipline checks and coordination • Review project documents for conformity and quality assurance • Identify and report risk management issues to the Project Engineer • Learn the needs of assigned clients • Uphold ethical obligations to clients and public welfare • Review and define scope of work with consultants and contractors • Collaborate across disciplines and offices; provide technical mentoring • Represent the firm to prospective employees, clients, and communities • Respond to common client or regulatory inquiries • Prepare reports and technical memoranda under Engineer‑of‑Record supervision • Direct or coordinate work of technicians and other assistants • Participate in individual development planning and programs • Contribute input to improve project delivery processes and standards • Support the Client Services team • Actively participate in local professional societies • Engage in community service activities and understand implications • Wear appropriate protective clothing and gear for field conditions

What You Bring
GMC is hiring an Engineering Intern (UF) to support ongoing projects at either the Lutz, Florida or Mobile, Alabama office. The internship offers students hands‑on experience preparing reports, site plans, permit documents, construction schedules, and other project deliverables, with guidance from managers and colleagues to ensure professional growth. • Present information effectively in oral and written formats • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university • Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil3D preferred • A/E or EPC experience a plus • Foundations of Engineering (EIT) certificate a plus
