About the Role

The Operator – Heavy Equipment is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station to transfer, spread, cover, load, and compact waste or soil efficiently and safely. Key duties include performing pre‑ and post‑operation inspections in line with company policy, operating equipment such as forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and front‑end loaders using proper safety standards, continuously monitoring waste for unacceptable materials, and ensuring equipment is operationally ready to minimize downtime. The role also involves minor servicing and documentation, completing equipment condition reports, adhering to all safety policies, keeping the shop clean, and performing other assigned tasks.
