About the Role

The Spotter is responsible for safely and efficiently directing vehicle drivers to the proper areas of a landfill, transfer station, or recycling center based on the site fill plan, while ensuring all publicly posted safety rules are followed. The role also inspects incoming loads for unacceptable waste and removes prohibited items before disposal, and may perform general labor duties such as site clean‑up, yard work, and building maintenance as needed. Key duties include adhering to all Company safety policies, making eye contact with drivers to confirm signals, and consistently using personal protective equipment. The Spotter enforces both posted and unposted safety standards, directs vehicles to designated areas even in inclement weather, inspects loads for items like tires and batteries, and communicates special waste requirements to equipment operators.
