About the Role
• Remain employed for twelve months after obtaining a CDL. • Perform full pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and readiness. • Safely operate a commercial truck along assigned routes, following route sheets and dispatcher instructions. • Operate manual or automatic controls to lift, load, compact, and dispose of waste at designated facilities. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers per departmental procedures. • Continuously monitor waste for prohibited materials and report safety issues. • Keep the assigned vehicle clean and operational, minimizing downtime. • After licensing, fulfill all driver duties in residential, commercial, industrial, or roll‑off services.

What You Bring
A Driver Trainee will be trained by Republic Services to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Upon successful completion of the program, the trainee will transition into a Driver role in residential, commercial, industrial, or roll‑off services. A twelve‑month employment period with Republic Services is required after obtaining the CDL. Trainees will learn to conduct full pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections and to report safety issues as required. Applicants must have no prohibitions preventing them from acquiring a CDL. The role requires the ability to operate manual or automatic controls safely, monitor waste containers, and maintain vehicle readiness. • Complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, including classroom study, on‑route training, and driving experience. • Pass the state CDL examination using provided resources and loaned truck.
