About the Role
Under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician B repairs and maintains diesel and non‑diesel equipment such as chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also includes basic tire work, road service when needed, and regular training on new technologies. What You Bring
The technician must maintain moderate proficiency in chassis, refuse bodies, engine, suspension, drivetrain, steering, heating, air‑conditioning, and welding/fabrication. Responsibilities include preventative and corrective maintenance both on‑site and on the road, diagnosing malfunctions with electronic tools, and completing required company training. Additional duties are performed as assigned. Candidates need a basic understanding of work‑order labor standards and at least one year of experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment, or be a recent graduate of an accredited automotive program. Familiarity with light/medium‑duty (Classes 1‑5) and heavy‑duty (Classes 7‑8) trucks, aircraft, or ships is required. ASE certifications and a Commercial Driver’s License are advantageous but not mandatory; a valid driver’s license is required.
