About the Role
The Maintenance Technician B works under the direct supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also includes basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, and tread‑depth checks. What You Bring
Key responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on chassis components, refuse bodies, engine systems, suspension, drivetrain, steering, and HVAC, as well as line‑maintenance welding and fabrication. The technician provides safe road service when needed, diagnoses malfunctions with electronic tools, completes company training programs, and performs other duties as assigned. A solid working knowledge and moderate skill proficiency across these vehicle systems is required. Candidates must have a basic understanding of work‑order labor time standards and prior experience with maintenance on Classes 1‑5 light/medium duty and Classes 7‑8 heavy‑duty trucks, aircraft, or ships. ASE certifications (T1‑T8) and a commercial driver’s license are a plus, while a valid driver’s license is required. Minimum qualifications include at least one year of technician experience with gasoline and diesel equipment or graduation from an accredited automotive program within three months, and the ability to inspect suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions with limited supervision.

Onsite
