About the Role
In this role you will develop and maintain standardized component requirements for global projects, collaborate with engineering teams to unify material specifications, and define material standardization for specifications and sizes. You will clarify global test methods for critical quality parameters, provide technical expertise to sourcing teams, and support negotiations on technical requirements with suppliers. Acting as a technical guide, you will keep project teams informed on component engineering and stay current with advancements in component technologies and materials. • Standardize component requirements and material specifications for global projects • Define and enforce material size and specification standards • Harmonize global test methods for critical quality parameters • Provide technical expertise to sourcing teams for supplier evaluation and negotiations • Act as technical guide for project teams on component engineering • Monitor advancements in component technologies and materials • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity core values • Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Material Science, Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with at least five years of industry experience, or a Ph.D. with two to three years of experience. Preferred experience includes work in the transformer industry and a strong background in supplier technology development. Advanced knowledge of component engineering, material specifications, part qualification processes, and quality standards is required, along with familiarity with SAP S/4Hana and Windchill. • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Material Science, Engineering, Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering with 5+ years experience, or Ph.D. with 2‑3 years experience • Experience in the transformer industry and supplier technology development • Advanced knowledge of component engineering, material specifications, and part qualification processes • Familiarity with SAP S/4Hana and Windchill • Strong communication and teamwork skills for cross‑functional collaboration
