About the Role
The estimator will work on multiple SAT projects through all lifecycle stages, using cost databases, software, and industry standards to produce estimates. Responsibilities include preparing full project estimates for each phase, conducting detailed cost estimates, assisting with material, equipment, and labor take‑offs, performing cost‑comparison analyses, and maintaining airport project cost databases. Collaboration with project managers, other disciplines, and airport authorities is essential to evaluate budgets and support cost planning. • Estimate all cost elements for SAT airport projects, including labor, materials, equipment, rentals, contingencies, escalation, and aviation‑specific risks. • Produce estimates for conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction document phases using industry‑accepted methods. • Conduct material, equipment, and labor take‑offs and compare in‑house estimates with contractor bids. • Utilize cost databases, software, and historical data to maintain and update airport project cost databases. • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, stakeholders, and airport authorities to evaluate budgets and support cost planning. • Prepare and coordinate full project estimates for multiple projects of varying complexity and value. • Maintain consistent communication with estimating teams and project stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field and at least five years of experience in construction and airport cost estimating. Preferred certifications include Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, Certified Construction Manager, Certified Professional Estimator, Certified Cost Technician/Professional, or Associate Estimating Professional. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field and 5+ years of construction/airport estimating experience. • Preferred certifications: Professional Engineer, Registered Architect, Certified Construction Manager, Certified Professional Estimator, Certified Cost Technician/Professional, or Associate Estimating Professional.
