About the Role

• Maintain equipment at water production facilities and booster stations. • Operate and maintain distribution systems, including mains, valves, hydrants, and service lines. • Maintain equipment at wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations. • Operate and maintain sewer collection systems, including collection mains and pump stations. • Troubleshoot and repair service piping and related equipment. • Perform routine water quality analysis and adjust chemical treatment to meet state and federal standards. • Calculate ratios and dosages for treatment processes. • Complete customer service work orders, update system documentation, and close orders per policy. • Perform all tasks safely and in compliance with company policies and applicable laws. • Travel to various Essential Utilities sites and be on‑call nights/weekends for 24/7 operations.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and the appropriate C or B water and wastewater licenses as required for the facility‑operator level. Experience with reverse‑osmosis (RO) and membrane bioreactor (MBR) systems is preferred, and familiarity with computers, spreadsheets, and database programs is advantageous. The role requires the ability to work in extreme temperatures, noise, wet or humid conditions, and exposure to mechanical, electrical, and gas hazards. Employees must be able to lift up to 75 lb, travel between sites, and be on‑call nights and weekends to support a 24/7 operation.
