Electrical Designer

About the Role

• Prepare detailed designs for building projects and create/maintain AutoCAD and Revit drawing packages. • Perform lighting and power circuitry selection, layout, sizing, voltage drop, short‑circuit calculations, and fixture specifications. • Design interior/exterior lighting, low‑voltage controls, electrical distribution, utility coordination, fire alarm systems, data/communications, security, emergency and life‑safety systems, and conduct energy code analyses. • Participate in conceptual design and ensure compliance with project schedules, regulations, and industry best practices. • Control design activities, including quality control and code compliance, delivering accurate, timely, cost‑effective work. • Prepare constructible design calculations and engineering documents meeting customer and company standards. • Coordinate with local building officials for code compliance and support on‑site visits, reporting, and drawing transmittals.

To support rapid growth, CoolSys Energy Design – Consulting Engineers (CED) is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer. The role involves transforming initial “red‑line” designs into detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD or Revit under the supervision of a Senior Engineer. The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline), has five or more years of relevant experience, and is proficient in AutoCAD and Revit. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and technical writing skills, combined with high proficiency in Microsoft Office, are required. The candidate must be a team player, capable of meeting project goals with minimal supervision and willing to travel minimally to project sites.
