About the Role
The engineer ensures continuous operation of critical data‑center systems and adheres to safety and environmental policies. • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and central utility plant systems. • Perform preventive maintenance and monitor fire/life safety, mechanical, electrical backup, and hot‑water systems to achieve 100 % uptime. • Record equipment readings, adjust settings, and respond promptly to building‑management system alerts. • Diagnose system malfunctions, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. • Manage work orders via CMMS, coordinate with vendors, and handle customer‑facing tickets. • Follow departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean workplace.

What You Bring
The Operating Engineer S3 – Critical Environments focuses on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment across multiple crafts such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing and central utility plant. The role requires multi‑skill proficiency to complete daily and weekly assignments in a data‑center setting. Candidates must have a high‑school diploma or GED, at least four years of related experience, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to read technical manuals, regulations, and write routine reports. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to interact professionally with tenants and contractors are essential. Preferred qualifications include hands‑on data‑center experience and familiarity with Corrigo, MCIM/Salesforce, Zendesk, and ServiceNow platforms. The position demands physical stamina for walking large campuses, climbing ladders up to 30 ft, lifting 50 lb, and working overtime, holidays, and emergency shifts. • Minimum qualifications: high‑school diploma/GED, 4+ years related experience, strong verbal/written communication, ability to read technical manuals and regulations. • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and capable of professional interaction with tenants and contractors. • Preferred experience: Corrigo, MCIM/Salesforce, Zendesk, ServiceNow, and hands‑on data‑center/UPS work. • Physical demands: walking large campuses, climbing ladders up to 30 ft, lifting at least 50 lb, navigating rooftops, and working overtime, holidays, and emergency shifts.
