About the Role

You will provide day‑to‑day technical transport planning input across a variety of development projects, working alongside peers and senior colleagues from both the Development Planning team and the wider WSP business. The position offers opportunities to develop project‑management and commercial skills by leading transport planning contributions with support from the broader team. • Conduct transport assessments and prepare travel plans for development proposals. • Develop access strategies, parking solutions and sustainable active‑travel provisions. • Produce traffic flow data for Transport Assessments and Environmental Statements. • Set up and run junction capacity models using Junctions 10 and Linsig, including scenario testing. • Perform conceptual junction design for priorities, roundabouts and signalised intersections. • Communicate technical findings to clients, project teams and external stakeholders. • Mentor and share expertise with colleagues across technical domains.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate has experience delivering transport assessments, travel plans, access and parking strategies, and sustainable active‑travel provisions, using guidance such as NPPF and DfT Transport Assessment guidelines. Proficiency with junction‑capacity modelling tools (e.g., Junctions 10, Linsig), conceptual junction design, and strong communication skills for client and stakeholder interaction are also required. • Utilise Excel and Word for data analysis and report generation. • Work flexibly under a hybrid model with two remote days per week and ‘My Hour’ daily.
