About the Role

The Engineering Project Manager – Transmission Line role leads the technical execution of high‑voltage transmission projects across the QISG platform, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. Reporting to the Engineering Director, the manager provides engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle and coordinates with field operations, customer accounts, procurement, and key stakeholders. This position involves overseeing engineering work from concept through closeout, managing service provider performance, and developing engineering controls and quality assurance standards. The manager also drives staffing initiatives, mentorship, training strategies, business development activities, and process innovations to enhance project delivery. • Collaborate with engineering and operational leadership to set technical goals. • Lead technical activities across conceptual, preliminary, detailed design, construction, and closeout phases. • Manage performance of engineering service providers using key performance indicators. • Develop and implement engineering controls and quality assurance standards. • Maintain internal technical documentation to meet company and customer requirements. • Plan and manage engineering staffing and resource needs for growth. • Mentor engineering staff and oversee training strategy. • Support business development through client meetings, proposal development, and project planning. • Drive innovation and efficiency by applying new technologies and best practices. • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and integrity within the engineering department. • Stay current with industry trends and incorporate relevant innovations into projects. • Represent QISG at industry forums, conferences, and professional associations.

What You Bring

Qualified candidates will have at least ten years of experience in the electric utility industry, a B.S. or graduate degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, and preferably a P.E. license. They must demonstrate strong technical knowledge, leadership of multidisciplinary teams, budget management, and familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. • Minimum 10 years of electric utility engineering or management experience. • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited university; PE license preferred. • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex projects on time and within budget. • Strong expertise in structural, civil, or electrical engineering and utility construction standards. • Experience with project controls, budgeting, and risk mitigation. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. • Knowledge of ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, NESC, and related codes and standards.
