About the Role

The role combines office and field duties to support environmental remediation projects across California and other locations. Responsibilities include preparing project plans, ensuring permit compliance, coordinating subcontractors, conducting sampling and inspections, and producing technical reports while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. • Prepare project planning documents (work plans, quality control, health & safety, sampling and analysis plans) and ensure permit compliance. • Procure subcontracts, materials, equipment, and schedule vendors for field activities. • Support wastewater, storm water, groundwater, and solid waste compliance through documentation and sample analysis. • Compile technical data, author memoranda and reports, and address internal, client, and regulatory comments. • Conduct soil, groundwater, sediment, wastewater, and storm water sampling per permit requirements and perform facility inspections. • Complete required field documentation and coordinate sample delivery to analytical laboratories. • Troubleshoot field issues and make sound decisions independently.

What You Bring

• Hold a B.S. in Geology, Engineering, or related field with 3–5 years of field sampling experience (or M.S. with 1–3 years). • U.S. citizenship with ability to pass a federal background check; valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly. • Experience with Clean Water Act, NPDES, MSGP, and MS4 regulations and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem‑solving, verbal and written communication, and customer service skills. • Preferred: knowledge of California local and state water quality regulations, 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification, and eligibility for PG/PE/PMP licensure.

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $62,000 to $77,000 annually, depending on experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package such as paid time off, holidays, 401(k) match, medical/dental/vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and wellness programs.
