About the Role

The Engineering Project Manager – Transmission Line role supports QISG’s transmission teams that design, build, maintain, and upgrade high‑voltage infrastructure critical to the electric grid. Reporting to the Engineering Director, the manager provides engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle and collaborates with field operations, customer accounts, procurement, and key stakeholders across the Quanta platform. Key responsibilities include leading technical efforts from concept through closeout, managing engineering service providers, implementing quality and engineering controls, and overseeing staffing and training strategies for the engineering department. The role also drives business development, promotes innovation and efficiency, fosters a culture of safety and integrity, and represents QISG in industry forums. • Strategically collaborate with engineering and operational leadership on technical goals. • Act as technical lead across conceptual, preliminary, detailed design, construction, and closeout phases. • Manage performance of engineering service providers and develop key performance indicators. • Develop and enforce engineering controls and quality assurance standards. • Oversee engineering staffing initiatives and resource planning for growth. • Lead, mentor, and devise training strategies for engineering staff. • Support business development through client meetings, proposal creation, and project planning. • Drive engineering process innovation and efficiency using new technologies and best practices. • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and integrity within the engineering department. • Stay current on industry trends and incorporate emerging technologies into projects. • Represent QISG at industry forums, conferences, and professional associations.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least ten years of electric utility experience, a B.S. or graduate degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, and preferably a PE license. Required expertise spans structural, civil, or electrical engineering, utility standards, budgeting, project controls, and regulatory codes, combined with strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning abilities. • Minimum 10 years of electric utility engineering or management experience. • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited university; PE license preferred. • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex projects on schedule and budget. • Strong expertise in structural, civil, or electrical engineering and utility construction standards. • Experience with utility processes such as scheduling, contracts, and cross‑disciplinary coordination. • Financial acumen for managing departmental budgets and project controls. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. • Knowledge of industry codes and standards (ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc.).
