About the Role

The technician prepares aircraft fuel tanks for leak testing, ensuring they are leak‑proof by using pressure tests or dye‑penetrant methods. Any weld leaks are repaired with TIG welding and necessary studs are installed. The interior of each tank is cleaned, the tank is removed from the test line, palletized, and a final quality check is performed. During the testing process, the operator plugs tank orifices, runs the hydraulic leak test machine, pressurizes the tank, and applies soap solution to locate leaks. Detected leaks are fixed with TIG welding, studs are attached using an electric stud welding gun, and a crane is used to move tanks off‑line for palletizing. A thorough visual inspection verifies weld quality, removal of spatter and debris, and conformance to drawing specifications, after which any non‑conformances are logged via Material Reject Tags. • Prepare tanks for leak testing and ensure leak‑proof integrity. • Perform pressure or dye‑penetrant testing on tanks. • Repair weld leaks using TIG welding. • Install required studs according to process standards. • Operate hydraulic leak test machine and use crane for tank handling. • Clean interior of tanks and palletize after testing. • Conduct final visual inspection for weld quality and drawing compliance. • Document non‑conformances with Material Reject Tags.
