About the Role
The senior manager will oversee the full lifecycle of cost management, from early budgeting and cost planning to final account closeout. Responsibilities include monitoring actuals versus forecasts, managing change orders, providing strategic procurement advice, delivering executive‑level cost reports, tracking contingencies, driving value‑engineering initiatives and maintaining benchmarking data. The role also requires participation in risk workshops, compliance with financial systems and, where applicable, adherence to SOX controls. • Lead end‑to‑end cost management for hyperscale data centre builds, from budgeting to final closeout. • Prepare and present detailed cost plans, estimates and budgets aligned with scope and client goals. • Monitor actual costs versus forecasts, identify variances and implement corrective actions. • Review, negotiate and document change orders with contractors. • Advise on procurement strategies, bid analysis and contractor negotiations. • Deliver executive‑level cost reports, forecasts and presentations to senior stakeholders. • Track contingencies, commitments and cost impacts across multiple project packages. • Drive value‑engineering and design‑optimisation initiatives to capture cost‑saving opportunities. • Maintain benchmarking data, historical cost records and lessons‑learned for continuous improvement. • Contribute to development of internal cost management tools, templates and processes. • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, vendors and internal project teams. • Participate in risk workshops and develop financial risk mitigation strategies.

What You Bring
The firm is looking for an experienced Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to lead cost management on large‑scale, mission‑critical data centre construction projects in the Atlanta metro area. This client‑facing role involves collaborating with design teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure cost control, risk mitigation and value optimisation throughout all project phases. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline and have 6‑10+ years of progressive cost management or project controls experience, preferably on large‑scale data centre or high‑tech projects. Required expertise includes cost planning, budgeting, financial reporting, procurement strategies, contract administration and value‑engineering techniques. RICS accreditation, strong leadership, communication and analytical skills, and proficiency with industry‑standard cost management software are advantageous.
