About the Role

You will support clients in capturing, validating, and curating cost data at various project stages, reviewing contractor submissions against the Work Breakdown Structure and ensuring correct allocation, tags, and yardsticks. You will also manage the cost database, normalising for inflation and asset‑standard changes, and assist teams in analysing trends, monitoring performance, and recommending efficiency improvements and risk mitigations. • Analyse project data and technical drawings to extract relevant cost and carbon information. • Allocate costs and apply yardsticks to various assets within projects. • Develop and maintain databases for cost and carbon data capture. • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate data collection and reporting. • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on cost and carbon. • Identify trends and insights to support decision‑making and project planning. • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to cost and carbon reporting. • Continuously improve data capture processes and methodologies.

What You Bring

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering or a related construction discipline, strong written and verbal communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, PowerBI, or R. Candidates must be detail‑oriented, able to build effective client and colleague relationships, and follow prescriptive processes; sector experience and familiarity with estimating systems are advantageous. • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering or other construction discipline. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, PowerBI, R). • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues. • Ability to follow prescriptive processes. • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to cost and carbon reporting. • Relevant experience in Water, Environment, or Transport sectors. • Sound knowledge in Cost and Contracts for infrastructure projects and programmes. • Proven experience in data analysis, cost allocation, and carbon reporting. • Experience using estimating systems such as CCS Candy, Benchmark Estimating System or other.
