About the Role
As a Carpenter you will be responsible for a broad scope of tasks at a single Defence base, including carpentry, fitting, minor maintenance, repairs, installation and upkeep of structures and fixtures. You will deliver both preventative and responsive works in line with statutory, contractual and safety requirements, applying your trade expertise to general facility upkeep. • Undertake carpentry, fitting, and minor maintenance works at a Defence base. • Perform carpentry, joinery and basic building works, including repairs, installation and maintenance of structures and fixtures. • Deliver preventative and responsive works in compliance with statutory, contractual and safety requirements. • Ensure a safe working environment for colleagues, customers and the public.

What You Bring
We are looking for candidates who hold a Certificate III in Carpentry and have post-trade experience in carpentry or mechanical fitting within a facilities maintenance environment. Additional qualifications such as a Working at Heights ticket, a Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering, and a current open driver’s licence are desirable, and you must be able to obtain a Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship is mandatory). • Hold a Certificate III in Carpentry. • Possess post-trade experience in carpentry or mechanical fitting within a facilities maintenance setting. • Working at Heights qualification (desirable). • Experience in preventative and corrective maintenance of building structures, fixtures and mechanical plant/equipment. • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent mechanical fitting qualification (desirable). • Current open driver’s licence. • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship required).
