About the Role
• Observes safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground handling equipment, including the performance of equipment checks. • Operates ground service equipment (GSE). • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form. • Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. • Maintains appearance of all ground service equipment. • Cleans engines (gasoline and diesel). • Fueling of all company vehicles. • Assists Mechanics when needed. • Performs oil change PMs on light equipment. • Write routine reports and correspondence. • Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the ramp at all times.

What You Bring
• The GSE Tech I on occasion may lift or move with help up to 60 pounds, and/or more frequently lift or move 70 to 100 pounds with help. The GSE Tech I is regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, stoop, kneel, and is frequently required to stand, walk. The GSE may be required to climb, sit, and balance. • Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules. • Must be willing to work in inclement weather. • Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history, and pre-employment drug test. • May be required to travel up to 25% of the time. • High School graduate or GED. • Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S. • The GSE Technician I is usually working outside and is exposed to all types of weather conditions with a seasonal range of temperatures which include rain, snow, wind and extreme temperatures. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Good communication skills. • Able and willing to work without direct supervision. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. • Be at least 18 years of age. • Ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably. • Speak effectively one-to-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization. • Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints. • Possess a valid driver’s license. • Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English.
