About the Role
The consultant will lead and support system design efforts, produce CAD/BIM layouts, perform calculations, develop specifications, conduct field inspections, coordinate with other trades, and oversee QA/QC. Additional duties include construction administration, processing RFIs and change orders, and representing Syska Hennessy with clients and consultants. • Support design efforts on a wide range of projects, performing calculations and layout of technical spaces. • Provide trade‑specific system design layouts using CAD/BIM and conduct calculations with appropriate software. • Develop specifications, system narratives, and layouts for various project sizes. • Conduct field inspections to assess existing conditions and coordinate new work. • Assist senior engineers with due‑diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and technical reports. • Establish system application, design, and operational parameters under senior guidance. • Participate in and oversee QA/QC processes for own and team work. • Help determine project schedules, manpower needs, and budgets. • Perform construction administration and detailed inspection reporting. • Process RFIs, change orders, bulletins, and addenda. • Support multidisciplinary design production including drawings, calculations, research, reports, and specifications. • Coordinate with internal design team and external clients, consultants, owners, and vendors.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related field (or equivalent experience), possess 7‑10 years of AV, telecom, IT, or security design experience—preferably in healthcare—and demonstrate strong communication, network and Wi‑Fi knowledge. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit is preferred and relevant certifications such as P.E., RCDD, CCNA, PMP, etc., are required. • Apply basic understanding of network connectivity, LAN/WAN fundamentals. • Apply basic understanding of Wi‑Fi infrastructure, WAPs, and controllers. • Master drawing organization format and company standards. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or technical discipline or equivalent experience. • 7–10 years of audiovisual, telecom, IT, or security design experience, preferably in healthcare. • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills. • Knowledge of active network systems and structured cabling design. • Understanding of Wi‑Fi network and telephony design concepts, including heat‑map generation. • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit preferred. • Required certifications such as P.E., PSP, CPP, CTS, CTS‑D, RCDD, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, PMP.
