About the Role
The Truck Driver – Transmission is an entry‑level position focused on the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. Employees work at multiple sites, may travel to other states based on customer demand, and are expected to perform duties safely on both energized and de‑energized equipment. • Perform safe construction, maintenance, and repair on energized and de‑energized transmission lines. • String overhead wire and set poles and anchors. • Assist in installing transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear. • Replace fuses in transformers and clear faulted circuits. • Work with high‑voltage systems while protecting self and coworkers. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good condition. • Carry out additional related tasks to complete the job. • Operate heavy equipment and use company radio effectively. • Apply basic rigging, hand‑line techniques and lineman knot tying. • Assist with installation and hookup of single‑phase transformers. • Conduct basic bucket rescue/escape procedures. • Check voltage on transformers and follow flag‑and‑tag procedures. • Install and remove services safely. • Inspect rubber goods and personal protective equipment and wear PPE as required. • Make up and use hand lines, including Kellum grips. • Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods at varied locations. • Work at heights and in confined spaces while adhering to safety protocols. • Perform duties outdoors in inclement weather and be willing to work overtime.

What You Bring
The role requires regular physical effort, including standing, walking, lifting over 50 lb, and working in various weather conditions. Employees are frequently exposed to fumes, vibration, noise and extreme site conditions while maintaining vehicles, equipment and tools. Successful candidates are self‑motivated, team‑oriented and able to follow company safety rules and policies. They must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License, be able to work at heights or in confined spaces, and be willing to work overtime as needed. • Perform rigorous physical labor and lift more than 50 lb. • Use and maintain hand tools correctly. • Identify primary and secondary voltage and understand induced voltage. • Understand equipment setup, grounding and minimum approach distances. • Hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License.
