About the Role

The Field Performance Technician role oversees the management, scheduling, and completion of service and warranty projects. The position works both independently and as part of the Performance O&M team, collaborating closely with customers, branch managers, senior electrical foremen, construction supervisors, and the centralized scheduling team. Key duties include organizing the warranty and service schedule, coordinating labor resources with the electrical foreman and construction supervisor, and supporting the training and development of field service staff. The technician also leads regular meetings to share best practices, assists with onboarding new teammates, and strives to surpass performance metrics such as turnaround time and dispatch volume. Additional responsibilities may involve conducting inspections and site audits when required. • Manage and schedule warranty and service work to ensure timely completion. • Allocate labor resources in coordination with the Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor, and Branch Manager. • Train and mentor Field Service Technicians and Communications Technicians. • Lead regular team meetings on best practices and onboard new team members. • Perform inspections and site audits as assigned. • Lift up to 50 lb regularly (up to 100 lb with assistance) and work safely on rooftops and at heights.

What You Bring

Candidates should have 1–3 years of field construction or solar experience, with a high school diploma as a minimum qualification; experience in PV design or electrical work is preferred. A clean driving record, a valid driver’s license, and being at least 21 years old are mandatory, while state‑specific electrical journeyman certification may be required. The role demands a solid understanding of the National Electrical Code, the ability to interpret single‑line drawings, and knowledge of PV system interconnections. Strong customer‑service orientation, excellent verbal and written communication, robust organizational skills, and proficiency with computer systems are essential. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lb regularly (up to 100 lb with assistance), frequent climbing, bending, and working on rooftops at various angles, as well as operating safely in diverse weather conditions and confined spaces. Employees must consistently follow safety policies, identify hazards, and promote safe practices among peers. • Achieve or exceed KPIs such as turnaround time, experience rating, and dispatch volume. • Possess 1–3 years of field construction or solar experience; high school diploma required; PV design or electrical experience preferred. • Maintain a clean driving record, hold a valid driver’s license, be at least 21 years old; electrical journeyman certification preferred or required by state. • Demonstrate knowledge of the NEC, ability to read single‑line drawings, and understand PV system interconnections. • Exhibit strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
