About the Role

The HazMat Field Driver/Technician is responsible for safely transporting various waste streams to designated generator sites, operating straight trucks and tractor‑trailers to pick up bulk and containerized hazardous and non‑hazardous waste while adhering to government regulations and procedures. • Operate various trucks (roll‑offs, tankers, tractor‑trailers, box trucks) for hazardous and non‑hazardous waste pickups. • Perform less‑than‑load (LTL) pickups. • Maintain driver documentation (logbook, permits, trip reports, waste manifests). • Ensure proper placarding, load securement, HAZMAT segregation and labeling. • Comply with state weight limit regulations. • Conduct daily DOT/MOT pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections. • Utilize company mobile applications and software for operations. • Communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction. • Process hazardous and non‑hazardous materials as needed. • Maintain cleanliness and order at the facility and grounds. • Serve as a technician on lab pack and field service projects when required. • Participate in site safety programs and required training. • Use hand and shop tools with accuracy and attention to detail. • Prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. • Participate in employee assistance program, discount programs, retirement plan with company match, and employee stock purchase plan.

What You Bring

The role requires a solid understanding of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and compressor systems, as well as expertise in pumps, motors, motor controls, instrumentation, and metal fabrication. Candidates must be proficient with hand and shop tools, demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, and be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities. A Class A Commercial Driver’s License with hazardous‑material and tanker endorsements (or the ability to obtain them within 90 days) is mandatory for this position. • Apply knowledge of electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, compressor, pump, motor, control, instrumentation, and metal‑fabrication systems. • Hold a Class A CDL with hazardous‑material and tanker endorsements (or obtain within 90 days).
