About the Role
Light Equipment Operators are responsible for operating various construction equipment such as bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front‑end loaders, backhoes, rollers, and graders to move earth with precision. They must inspect equipment, follow safety protocols, and may assist other trades during downtime, including non‑operating tasks. • Operate dirt equipment (bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, rollers, graders) to move earth. • Conduct equipment inspections and complete related paperwork. • Follow all safety regulations and signal directions during operations. • Assess work areas for hazards and plan equipment use.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least two years of dirt equipment operating experience, possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to meet all physical and licensing requirements, including a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Additional qualifications include basic mechanical knowledge, familiarity with soil types, and the ability to complete equipment inspection paperwork accurately. The role demands physical abilities such as lifting up to 50 lb, precise hand‑eye coordination, and extended periods of sitting, standing, and communication while wearing required personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, and leather boots). Required tools include a raincoat and rain boots, and forklift experience is also required. • Maintain reliable transportation and possess required tools (raincoat, rain boots). • Meet physical demands: lift up to 50 lb, wear PPE, and pass visual acuity test. • Hold a valid driver’s license and meet motor‑vehicle record check. • Possess at least 2 years of dirt equipment operating experience. • Preferred: current/former Zachry employee, Zachry ROF’ed, forklift experience.
