About the Role

Key duties include developing and maintaining strong relationships with municipal clients, leading a Client Engagement Team to deliver innovative solutions, and creating multi‑year growth plans for municipal accounts. The manager will monitor trends in public spending, regulatory changes, and infrastructure investment to identify opportunities, while also pursuing new business in water, transportation, and urban development sectors. Advocacy responsibilities involve representing GHD at municipal meetings, conferences, and industry events, and promoting the organization’s brand to stakeholders. Additional responsibilities cover overseeing CRM implementation, acting as a subject‑matter expert in technology, policy or regulation, and managing a portfolio of complex customer relationships. The role requires continuous professional development, maintaining external accreditations, and developing internal marketing plans to strengthen both internal and external customer focus. • Build and maintain relationships with municipal clients, including city governments, utilities, and public agencies • Act as the internal voice of the client, ensuring priorities and challenges are addressed • Develop and execute client interaction plans targeting decision‑makers and influencers • Lead and mentor a Client Engagement Team to deliver tailored municipal solutions • Create annual growth plans for municipal accounts with 3‑5 year strategic horizons • Monitor public spending trends, regulatory changes, and infrastructure investments to spot opportunities • Identify and pursue new business in water, transportation, and urban development markets • Collaborate with technical teams on proposals and maintain an active pipeline of projects • Represent GHD at municipal meetings, conferences, and industry events to promote the brand • Oversee CRM system implementation and maintenance, driving improvements in relationship management • Serve as subject‑matter expert in technology, policy, regulation, or operational management • Manage a portfolio of complex customer relationships and supervise a small team of account managers • Develop relationship management plans for strategic accounts and facilitate two‑way communication • Clarify customer needs, coordinate internal specialists, and define specifications for solutions • Build senior‑level networks, gather market intelligence, and enhance GHD’s reputation through advocacy

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline, with a Professional Engineer license preferred, and at least ten years of client service or relationship management experience in the municipal or public sector. Required skills include excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities, leadership of cross‑functional teams, proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office, and a strategic, client‑centric mindset.
