About the Role

The Dispatcher communicates with WM drivers to resolve problems on route, handles incoming service orders, directs drivers, resolves service issues, and interacts with customers, WM staff, and operational personnel while using proprietary software to log tickets and track activity. Shifts may include overtime and Saturday hours based on site needs. The role involves collaborating with routing specialists, route managers, and the service department to optimize routes; dispatching drivers based on customer needs, locations, and loads while balancing cost and speed; fielding calls and emails to manage same‑day pick‑up or container delivery requests; making outbound calls to customers while drivers are on site to resolve issues; troubleshooting potential delivery or pick‑up problems; and documenting driver information for relevant departments.
