About the Role

The Production Supervisor delivers production plans that meet quality, timeline, and budget requirements within assigned departments. The role supports team leads, mobilizes resources to achieve operational goals, and contributes to continuous‑improvement initiatives while prioritizing health and safety, employee development, and adherence to manufacturing standards. • Review and analyze daily production KPIs, conduct Gemba Walks, and monitor progress against weekly/monthly plans. • Identify and act on trends to prevent delays, manage backlogs, and support continuous improvement. • Approve timesheets, absences, overtime, and vacation requests in coordination with HR and planning. • Plan daily workforce needs, coordinate inter‑departmental resources, and ensure realistic production schedules. • Participate in operational meetings (health & safety, problem‑solving, Gemba) and ensure smooth shift handovers. • Optimize resource allocation, manage temporary assignments, and oversee workers‑comp considerations. • Monitor absenteeism and punctuality, approve payroll hours, and enforce disciplinary measures per collective agreement. • Facilitate onboarding, training, and contribute to workplace accident investigations with HR and H&S coordinator.

What You Bring

The role requires a relevant college or university degree and several years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment, with a preference for steel‑industry background and knowledge of Lean principles. Strong analytical, leadership, and bilingual communication skills are essential. • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Operations/Project Management or related field. • 3–5 years supervisory experience in a unionized setting; steel‑industry experience preferred. • Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and leadership skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP and Dayforce experience advantageous. • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and occupational health & safety regulations. • Bilingual (English and French) communication proficiency.
