About the Role
The Project Manager reports to a Delivery Manager and supports the full lifecycle delivery of an assigned contract or work package, covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning. The role ensures that planning and execution meet safety, quality, time and cost parameters while aligning with the overall project schedule. Scope may include on‑ and off‑site infrastructure such as park‑and‑ride sites, rail works, accommodation campuses, utility networks and highway works. • Support multi‑disciplinary team in developing budgets and reporting on them. • Develop and maintain Level 3 schedules aligned with overall project timelines; flag discrepancies promptly. • Coordinate with quality teams to implement NNB SZC quality management, focusing on off‑site requirements. • Assist in implementing the Programme Execution Plan (PEP) and define delivery strategies. • Secure required resources, maintain SQEP for assigned personnel, and identify resource shortfalls. • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and execute PEP strategies for the contract/package. • Support sourcing strategies and tender document preparation; respond to tender queries and liaise with suppliers. • Deliver contract activities safely, on time, within budget and to technical specifications; monitor progress against milestones. • Anticipate, manage and resolve issues; identify risks, update programme budget and escalate as needed. • Prepare weekly and monthly written/oral reports for the Senior Project Manager and present progress to senior leadership. • Review contractor‑supplied Level 3 and 16‑week rolling schedules. • Ensure delivery of all items listed in the List of Deliverables (LOD) for the scope of work. • Apply earned value management (EVM) principles to track performance. • Drive continuous improvement and capture lessons learned as routine practice. • Support interfacing with other programmes to provide a high‑level project view and adopt best practices. • Manage contractual obligations, raise non‑conformance notices and oversee remedial work. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all project team members. • Deliver projects in technically complex, regulated environments, preferably within the nuclear sector. • Manage engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for EPCM projects. • Oversee procurement and management of complex contracts, controlling cost, risk, schedule and change using earned value tools. • Close out commercial claims and negotiate resolutions. • Engage and manage groups of stakeholders effectively. • Manage contractors, consultants and advisors on large construction projects using NEC or FIDIC contracts. • Apply strong numerical and analytical skills to project data. • Maintain good knowledge of CDM Regulations. • Apply project management methodologies such as APM Body of Knowledge and PRINCE2. • Participate in Mace's Employee Referral Scheme to recommend talented colleagues.

What You Bring
• Demonstrate strong project, financial, change management and facilitation skills; proficient with estimating, scheduling and risk tools. • Exhibit excellent presentation, influencing, communication and organisational abilities; build and maintain networks. • Possess detailed understanding of PWR design and operational experience. • Hold a degree and chartered status in engineering, construction or a related discipline. • Understand nuclear quality assurance processes and how to apply a graded approach to quality.
