About the Role
The Senior Systems Engineer role is part of KBR’s National Security Solutions team, delivering high‑end engineering and advanced technology solutions to intelligence and national security customers. In this position, your work will directly support the nation’s critical mission of protecting national security. • Support evolution of sponsor’s strategic direction and priorities. • Ensure effective strategy execution using performance‑management best practices and benchmarking. • Apply enterprise‑architecture knowledge to technical collection and communicate its link to the Intelligence Community portfolio. • Track IC technical‑investment portfolio, business goals, performance targets, and associated architecture. • Offer strategic foresight recommendations, including roadmaps, risk identification, capability gaps, alignment, and funding considerations. • Act as liaison with IC program managers, DoD partners, and private‑sector companies on capabilities, service delivery, and requirements. • Assist government clients with program goals, schedules, and reporting to senior executives. • Translate technical topics into non‑technical language for senior‑level audiences. • Produce deliverables in multiple formats (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat) and support AI strategy architecture and implementation design.

Working hours follow a standard schedule. • Maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. • Possess a BS (12‑15 years experience) or MS (10‑13 years experience) in a technical field; a doctorate is a plus. • Demonstrate expert knowledge of artificial intelligence and data‑integration complexities. • Exhibit strong analytical, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills. • Hold a practical engineering or science degree, broad IC/DoD experience, and an AI certification (desired).

Benefits
Base salary for this role in Maryland ranges from $150,200 to $225,300, with the final rate based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience. KBR may also provide bonuses, sign‑on payments, relocation assistance, and other incentive programs.
