About the Role

The Principal IT Architect is a cross‑project, cross‑discipline leader responsible for creating, governing, and communicating Constellation’s current‑state and future‑state architectures. This role sets direction for the Architecture organization, supports IT and business functions, and provides infrastructure, platform, and governance strategy. A key focus is serving as the Responsible AI Champion, advocating ethical AI implementation and ensuring alignment with corporate policies and societal impact. Primary duties include delivering technical expertise for AI solutions, managing AI intake across the development lifecycle, advising leadership on strategic technology plans, and maintaining stakeholder relationships through the Responsible AI program lead. The architect also participates in governance mechanisms, monitors emerging technologies, and mentors IT personnel, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion. • Provide technical expertise to identify and implement AI solutions aligned with business goals. • Manage AI intake process from ideation through production, ensuring compliance with Responsible AI policies. • Advise IT and business leadership on strategic technology plans that support AI initiatives. • Maintain stakeholder relationships and communicate status through the Responsible AI program lead. • Participate in architecture governance, exceeding AI governance standards. • Monitor emerging technologies and assess their potential business impact. • Mentor IT personnel and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team.

What You Bring

Success in the role requires strong collaboration with business and IT leadership, application owners, infrastructure and solution architects, and external partners. The architect must be proactive, curious, and comfortable questioning to drive continuous improvement, while demonstrating excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration, 10+ years of experience designing medium to large software solutions, and 5+ years delivering AI/ML solutions—preferably using Microsoft Azure. Subject‑matter expertise in Generative AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science, knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments are required. Travel up to 25 % may be needed. Preferred qualifications feature a master’s degree or MBA, professional IT architecture certifications, and demonstrated experience governing responsible AI initiatives. • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration; 10+ years of software architecture experience. • 5+ years designing and delivering AI/ML solutions, preferably using Microsoft Azure. • Subject‑matter expertise in Generative AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science and knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals. • Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments; up to 25% travel required. • Preferred: Master’s degree/MBA, professional architecture certification, and proven Responsible AI governance experience.
