About the Role
The Employee Relations Advisor role is a full‑time permanent position within WSP’s ER team, serving People Managers across the UK and Ireland. You will deliver pragmatic, legally sound first‑line advice, manage cases, and help build manager capability through guidance and tools. • Provide first‑line employee‑relations advice and hands‑on case management to People Managers across the UK & Ireland. • Conduct investigations, handle grievances, disciplinary and performance‑management matters, and manage flexible‑working and absenteeism issues. • Coach managers on daily people activities, including return‑to‑work interviews, occupational health referrals, and letter writing. • Offer policy guidance and share best practices with the HRSS team. • Support ER Partners on projects such as redundancies, restructures, TUPE, and office moves. • Assist with medium to high‑risk case management and act as a note‑taker for senior ER partners. • Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives across HR and other business functions. • Liaise with the legal team on Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).

What You Bring
Success in this role requires a solid background in employee‑relations casework, strong knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS guidance, and the ability to prioritise a high‑volume workload with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication, coaching skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR databases are also essential. • In‑depth knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidance, and document management. • Proven experience handling high‑volume ER casework in a fast‑paced environment. • Strong organisational abilities with keen attention to detail and workload prioritisation. • Results‑driven, proactive attitude with the ability to lead by example. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and HR information systems. • Excellent verbal and written communication; experience coaching managers using the GROW model.
