Job Highlights
About the Role
The journeyman reads blueprints, layout plans, vendor manuals and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. They dismantle, move, assemble, and install machinery and equipment using hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and other equipment. They also construct foundations, align machines, perform optical and laser alignments, and may operate lathes or program robots. • Read and interpret blueprints, layout plans, vendor manuals, and schematics to determine work procedures. • Dismantle machines using hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, and crowbars. • Move machinery and equipment with hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. • Assemble and install equipment like shaffing, conveyors, and tram rails using cranes and tools. • Construct machine foundations using wood, cement, steel, and hand tools. • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, squares, micrometers, plumb bobs, and optical/laser methods. • Fasten machines to foundations or structures by bolting, welding, or riveting. • Operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn parts to specifications. • Install and program robots using a teach pendant. • Use transit and level for equipment setting. • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. • Perform lubricating maintenance, cleaning, and repair of tools, machines, and equipment. • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems. • Follow logical step‑by‑step procedures. • Plan work and select proper tools. • Compare and assess size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects. • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. • Make decisions based on measurable criteria. • Operate machinery.

What You Bring
The project is a long‑term maintenance contract with no per‑diem. The position is for a journeyman who has at least three years of documented field experience in a chosen craft, can read and interpret instructions, and can plan and perform work independently. The role involves installing machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings. The job requires precise work within strict accuracy limits, application of shop mathematics, logical step‑by‑step procedures, and the ability to plan work and select proper tools. Candidates should be able to visualize objects in three dimensions, compare sizes and shapes, make decisions based on measurable criteria, and be comfortable working at heights and operating machinery. A high school diploma or equivalent plus relevant experience is required; the role operates under supervision and follows established guidelines.
