About the Role
The Administrative/Payroll Clerk provides essential administrative support for industrial maintenance activities at a petrochemical processing plant, handling office functions, payroll assistance, data management, and financial processing. The role follows a 9/80 schedule, with the expectation to work extended hours for special projects or turnarounds, and requires reliable transportation, successful completion of a 90‑day probationary period, and maintenance of satisfactory bi‑annual performance evaluations. • Perform general clerical tasks such as copying, filing, printing, scanning, and answering phone calls. • Support timekeeping and payroll functions, including entering employee work hours into Zachry (Oracle) and Track systems. • Process accounts payable and receivable, set up direct deposits, handle check cancellations, and manage W‑4 forms. • Maintain and secure personnel files in both physical and electronic formats, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information. • Generate and prepare various reports related to payroll, HR, and financial activities. • Participate in safety and continuous improvement programs, including Safe Catch, Quality Catch, Stop Work Authority, and SMART Focus initiatives. • Provide extensive customer service, establishing and sustaining effective relationships with Zachry and client personnel. • Manage onboarding and offboarding activities, badge requests, and other HR transactions. • Communicate effectively through written, verbal, and electronic channels to support internal and external stakeholders.

What You Bring
A strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency is required, with active participation in site safety and continuous improvement programs, while collaborating under the supervision of an experienced manager. The position has no direct reports and prefers candidates with prior Zachry employment and an acceptable ESR rating. Candidates must possess strong computer skills, at least four years of related administrative experience, effective problem‑solving and communication abilities, a valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR, and must maintain a TWIC card and required safety credentials. Work is performed in an industrial office environment, requiring regular walking to outdoor parking areas, the ability to lift up to 20 lb, and occasional outdoor travel that may necessitate personal protective equipment. • Demonstrate at least four years of administrative/clerical experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Adobe Acrobat) and the Track timekeeping system. • Hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report and possess a TWIC card for the duration of employment. • Meet physical requirements: lift and move up to 20 lb, walk between indoor office and outdoor parking, and use required PPE for occasional outdoor travel.
