About the Role
The position is located in Irvine, CA and is a regular, salaried exempt role within the Southern California Main division of Turner Construction Company. It focuses on managing the financial execution and reporting for the Turner Construction Company Foundation and its fundraising events, handling daily project accounting, cash flow, forecasting, cost analysis, compliance, and internal controls. The role oversees all Foundation accounting functions, policies, compliance, and staff, while fostering a supportive environment for professional development. It is responsible for preparing and approving year‑end financial statements, managing state registrations, event transaction processing, grant documentation, and donor‑restricted fund reporting, as well as contributing to ESG reporting and financial audits. • Oversee Foundation accounting functions, processes, policies, and staff. • Develop and mentor Foundation team members, identifying growth opportunities. • Prepare, review, and secure approval of year‑end financial statements. • Manage state registrations and licensing for fundraising events. • Handle event transaction accounting, receipts, disbursements, and issue resolution. • Process consultant invoices supporting Foundation operations. • Maintain confidentiality while processing employee grants and office giving. • Reconcile fundraising event receipts with grant payments and distribute funds timely. • Review and approve supporting documentation for grant check requests. • Reconcile Turner employee donations within the donation system. • Report donor‑restricted funds and fundraising financial data to leadership. • Track and forecast G&A expenses for the Turner Philanthropic team. • Develop financial data for ESG reporting. • Review event budgets for accuracy, risk, and compliance with policies. • Lead implementation of financial audits and support external/internal reviews. • Identify financial risks, communicate them, and coordinate mitigation strategies. • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and event contract financial requirements. • Provide financial information and recommendations for Board and Steering Committee meetings. • Review and improve financial processes, cost coding, forecasting, and reporting tools. • Contribute to the Foundation’s forecasting process with leadership. • Supervise and hire Foundation financial team members, conduct onboarding and performance reviews. • Deliver training on financial systems, processes, and compliance standards.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field with at least eight years of relevant experience, preferably in the not‑for‑profit sector. Required expertise includes GAAP, financial oversight, budgeting, audit procedures, analytical problem‑solving, high organization, integrity, and proven management and mentorship abilities. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with minimum 8 years experience. • Preferred not‑for‑profit sector experience. • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. • In‑depth expertise in billing, receivables, cash‑flow management, and budgeting. • Ability to interpret contract language and audit procedures. • Experience in financial oversight, strategic planning, and modeling. • Professional financial writing for Board‑level communications. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑influencing skills. • High organization, attention to detail, and dedication to integrity. • Self‑motivated with ability to prioritize complex tasks. • Management experience with a focus on developing high‑performance teams. • Capability to collaborate across regional, national, and external stakeholders. • Executive‑level presentation skills and ability to convey complex information clearly. • Emotional self‑awareness to influence outcomes and manage relationships.
