About the Role

• Manage positioning activities of the business development team. • Develop strategic positioning plans for company and project pursuits. • Create internal and external communications, marketing, branding, advertising materials, and presentations. • Coordinate prequalification efforts with targeted customers and partners. • Gather customer feedback on proposals and presentations. • Serve as liaison between business development, pre‑construction, and marketing. • Conduct market‑sector analysis and provide insight on trends. • Establish and nurture strategic business partnerships and customer relationships. • Build relationships with design professionals, partner companies, community leaders, utilities, equipment manufacturers, and engineering firms. • Identify new market sector opportunities and convert prospects into contacts for sector leaders. • Complete requests for proposals with 100 % accuracy and compliance with owner specifications. • Support the development team and follow performance review processes. • Apply forethought and planning in decision‑making to ensure project success.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Business Development Executive who can interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. The role requires flexibility, resourcefulness, proactive efficiency, and a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail are essential. • Familiarize with customer project estimates to facilitate discussions. • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, Engineering, or related field. • Minimum 10 years of industry‑related business development experience. • Proven ability to build customer relationships and regional business knowledge. • Demonstrated success executing marketing strategies. • Strong attention to detail for data entry, reporting, financial projections, and market analysis. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Project, and relevant CRM applications. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills. • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies. • Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel up to 30 % of the time.

The base salary ranges from $168,100 to $252,200, with higher ranges for certain locations, and the position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
